Gallien asked Supertramp where he wanted to go and he said that he wanted to go as close to the Denali National Park where he would live for a couple of months. So Gallien agreed to take him there even though it was out of his way, and when they got there Supertramp said to stop where he was a that he would walk the rest of the way to the National Park. Once he told the cop he then mails the unpaid ticket to his Mom and Dad's house where both of them were surprised and thought that this was there chance to find Supertramp. Such a coincidence that their neighbor was a director of the U.S. Defense Intelligence Agency and offered to help them find their son. From Muress's perspective, Supertramp was very kind, responsible, and strong. He did calisthenics each morning to prepare for his trip to Alaska. when Supertramp told Muress and her boyfriend about his Alaskan Odyssey they thought he was out of his mind and wouldn't even survive a week out there. Muress also pointed out how Supertramp always kept to himself especially when it came to his family. This man was Ronald Franz so he accepted the ride and Franz asked where his camp was and he said past Oh-My-God Hot Springs. Franz looked confused because he said he had been living in Salton City for six years and has never heard of that name before. so they go there and Ronald drops off Supertramp at the encampment was, then when Ronald left Supertramp went to where he was actually camping. Then later on Ronald and Supertramp saw each other more often and spent a lot of time. Supertramp even did laundry and his stake at Franz's apartment, Franz also taught Alex how to be a leatherworker and he made a belt with his name on it when he got better. Franz got really attached to Alex that he felt like family to him. So Supertramp lives a nomadic lifestyle and so he didn't stay in Salton City for too long so he told Franz that he was headed back to South Dakota to work with Westerberg. and Ronald drove Supertramp there and asked him a special request. For example, Carl went to Alaska to get a break for life and so he did. He decided to live in a cabin by the water for a month or so but the only way to get there is by boat or hydroplane. So he packed up all his stuff, some provisions, and a shotgun with ammo to last the month and went to the cabin. Mcunn had a great time when he was alone he felt free. When the time came it was about a month and there was no plane he soon realized that he never told the pilot to come back after the month was over. He started having less and less food and got worried that he was going to die in the cabin. Mcunn thought it was a smart idea to shoot the last remaining bullets at the ground in which they could've been handy in hunting an animal. Mcunn heard a distant noise and so he went outside and saw that it was a plane, so he waved one hand to the plane vigorously. The plane left and he thought he was going back to town to get someone with a hydroplane since their's wasn't capable of floating. But instead, he just made a circle and left and never came back. Krakauer wanted to go to the Devil's Thumb in Alaska since he was young. When He was at the age of 23 he went into the Alaskan Bush. He got to his destination but he had some obstacles, the weather was bad and the only way to get to Devil's Thumb is by skiing. Before going to Devil's Thumb he asked a pilot if he could bring him provisions 3 days after he started his trip. So Krakauer started his trip and it was a great day so he kept ongoing. He knew that he couldn't waste a day like this because it was rare to have weather like that. When the three-day mark came Krakauer was at the destination where the plane would drop his provisions but the plane didn't come because it was so hard to see that the pilot wouldn't be able to drop the supply safely and in the correct spot. But one day a somewhat clear day Krakauer saw a glimpse of the plane and he started waving his hands like a maniac, the plane, of course, couldn't see him nor the target in which he would drop the provisions. Krakauer was getting worried and thought that the plane wouldn't come and was thinking of going back. He realized that he could stay and ration his food until the plane came. When they got on Mrs. McCandless wanted to go along the Stampede Trail because that was the trail that his son took before his death. So they did that and a couple of minutes later they go to the site where he died. Mrs. McCandless said that the van was smaller than she imagined, Mrs. McCandless was the first to enter and she was on the mattress that her son died on. She was taking in all the things that were inside the van like his shoes under the stove. Then Mr. McCandless walks in the bus and saw some things that he remembered like a blanket that Mrs. McCandless had sewn. When they left Mrs. McCandless had left a suitcase full of things for the people like Supertramp so that they don't end up like him.
