1. Put binder p. 5 in a clear sleeve.
2. Determine the fraction for each point on the lines. 
3. Shade ½, 2/4, and 4/8.  What do you notice? (equivalent) What do you wonder? (why didn’t we shade the thirds?)

1. Title your poster "Equivalent Fractions"
2. Divide your poster into 4 quadrants.
3. Write equivalent statements in the first quadrant using what you learned from the number line.   
½ = 2/4 = 4/8. 
4. Cut out the fraction tiles and circles for the fractions above.  (binder p. 6-7)
5. Label the unit fraction for each one.
6. Glue them onto quadrant 1.

Repeat using the fractions below:
Quadrant 2: one-third
Quadrant 3: two-thirds
Quadrant 4: one-fourth

Challenge/Early Finishers:
Use your fraction tiles to find more equivalent fractions and add them to your poster.
