The Great Wall of China is one of the largest buildings that have been constructed. It runs for 5,500 miles from east to west. This wall often traces the crestlines of hills and mountains as it snakes across the Chinese countryside, and about one-fourth of its length consists solely of natural barriers such as rivers and mountain ridges. The section of the Great Wall west of the Huanghe River played a vital role in ensuring smooth traffic on the Silk Road to the western regions (mainly countries in Central Asia) and in the development of trade and cultural exchanges between China and countries in other parts of Asia and Europe.

European mind—was a remote and unexplored region, much of the Gobi is not sandy desert but bare rock. In the present discussion, the Gobi is defined as lying between the Altai Mountains and Hangayn Mountains to the north. Ancient China was bordered by two of the world's largest deserts: the Gobi Desert to the north and northwest and the Takla Makan Desert to the west. These two deserts helped to protect China from outside invaders, but they also limited Chinese expansion.

The Three Gorges Dam is about 594 feet (181 meters) tall and 7,770 feet (2,335 meters) long. The name “Three Gorges” refers to the narrow gorges that the Yangtze River flows through in this mountainous region. They made the gorge because they believed that it would help reduce flooding. One of the most controversial aspects of the mega-project was its enormous cost for villagers who had lived for centuries on the banks of the river. To make way for the dam's massive reservoir, about 1.4 million people were uprooted, their ancestral homes demolished, communities broken up and farmlands flooded. Jul 31, 20. this dam helped society greatly because it decreased flooding. this dam is important because it makes Yichang, Hubei, China safe.

The Plateau of Tibet is a vast high plateau in southwestern China. The northern section of the plateau, called Qiangtang, is dotted with many brackish lakes; its southern section contains the headwaters of the upper Indus and Brahmaputra rivers. The Plateau of Tibet has an area of about 965,000 square miles (2,500,000 square km) and is a region of tangled mountains and uplands that are generally above 13,000 to 15,000 feet (4,000 to 5,000 meters). The large-scale uplift of the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau not only influenced Chinese geomorphic patterns and climate change but also changed the climate and eco-environment in Asia and even the northern hemisphere. This is important to Asia because it is a huge water source. This changed society because climate regulation services on precipitation for East Asia and China.

The Yangtze River longest river in both China and Asia and the third longest river in the world, with a length of 3,915 miles (6,300 km). Its basin, extending for some 2,000 miles (3,200 km) from west to east and for more than 600 miles (1,000 km) from north to south, drains an area of 698,265 square miles (1,808,500 square km). The upper course of the Yangtze flows across the Plateau of Tibet and descends through deep valleys in the mountains east of the plateau. The middle course of the Yangtze stretches for about 630 miles (1,010 km) between the cities of Yibin in Sichuan province and Yichang in Hubei province. Lastly, the lower part of the Yangtze Basin is centered on the extensive lowland plains of east-central China. This helped society because half of all the fish eaten every year comes from the Yangtze River. This river is important because it provides a good water source.
