GIF file sizes vary. If they aren't animated, then they are very low due to the low colour depth. If they are animated, they are a bit larger but still not very large

GIFs can be animated and they are easy to animate simply by combining frames into one image.

Only certain types of GIF formats support animation: 89a does but 87a doesn't.
