Obama does not want his country to be dragged into another war with Iraq. U.N. human rights investigators accused ISIS and Syrian government forces of committing war crimes and atrocities in their brutal fight in Syria. He’s also deciding if he will expand the military effort to include airstrikes on Syria. He shares that they don't have a strategy yet.

"The U.S. can no longer solve the problems in Iraq These problems can only be solved with Iraqi political solutions." Even if the U.S. does help the Kurds, Iraq will still have to find a way to govern their country.

What can the U.S. do?

The Kurds want their own land; the Kurdis land. However Iraq is in no position to give that land up. If the U.S. were to give the Kurds weapons and the Kurds were able to defend themselves, the question is would the Kurds then start a Civil war to get Kurdis land. Then would the U.S. be in a position where they almost could be the reason that war even happened. If the U.S. were to help then soldiers would not be involved

Obama had made an announcement that when it was confirmed that Syrian President Bashar al-Assad using the arsenal against his own people that he would bomb Syria to stop the President, and to stop terrorist group ISIS. "In fact, they used chemical weapons twice and still we did not do what we said we would do." So now, ISIS has stayed put and if anything have grown in power. Should Obama had bombed when he said he would?

Obama, when announcing initially that he was going to Bomb Syria had majority of Congress against him. So, after a series of events- he decided to no longer bomb Syria due to lack of support. Now, the majority of Congress saying that Obama shouldn't bomb at first are starting to say that he should've bombed (even with no support) because now ISIS thinks that the US is making empty threats.
