We noticed three different sources, with three different structures that can make it confusing for some students; especially if they have never seen a Q&A formatting. 

Adding the time to highlight and put that information in an organized format and in their own words when responding to the actual questions. 

Level of vocabulary is going to play a huge rule, especially for EL students. Most of the students will struggle with a lot of the vocab, especially with the current lack of reading comprehension in most students. 

How would students see this online? Would it be going back and forth from one tab to another or side to side - having the article and question next to one another? 

The program itself might be a struggle, especially for students who struggle with technology. 

Is this format for these assessments the same as other formative assessments? Do students have accommodations and different tools while working on these assessments?

Key words were really helpful, and made it easier to break down exactly what was needed to score adequately. 

The exemplars help understand better how to score students ourselves. 

Having the items in parentheses with the explanations of why the items were scored the way they were helped to make clearer connections between the items and the scores.
