The project supports parents, carers and communities to develop their own sustainable groups.

The project supports individuals living in the Caerphilly Borough to have their voices heard in their community by encouraging them to contribute to discussions and consultations about local issues and the development of local services that may affect their lives.

We encourage individuals to grow, developing their confidence, knowledge and self-esteem, raising aspirations for them to have an informed voice and want to be heard. 

Activities are tailored to meet the needs of the group and may include:
  • Wellbeing support
  • Digital literacy support
  • Cookery and sewing classes
  • Craft workshops
  • Outdoor activities
  • Qualifications and skills for employment

Individuals will also have the opportunity to register and train as a Community Champion, supporting families in their local community with appropriate information and signposting to local services.

    This new network of community voices will bring greater opportunity to the volunteers who take part in the program, along with more useful information for the wider community.  

    Giving Echo volunteers even more access to having their voices heard, being part of change and expanding their knowledge.

    This program will see more information sharing for the community from antenatal, birth, Early years, speech and language, community involvement, health and wellbeing and so much more!

    This can be becoming a community Echo volunteer or be part of the partnership collective that provide key messages. 

    There's something for everyone you just need to get involved!!

    Volunteers are matched to a variety of roles such as supporting and facilitating the weekly Community Forum provision, becoming Parent Champions and/or offering group sessions in a specialist area e.g. craft.

    Our volunteers are supported to ensure that they are suitable and confident in their role. They have opportunities to complete relevant training such as Adult and Children’s safeguarding, first aid, manual handling and food hygiene.
