  • He is an explorer and navigator.
  • He was born in Italy around 1450.
  • He moved to Bristol, England by 1495.
  • He made a voyage in 1497 on ship Matthew.
  • He was the son of a spice merchant named Giulio Caboto.
  • He married Mattea in 1474 and eventually became the father of three sons.
  •  Sebastiano, John's son followed in his father’s footsteps, becoming an explorer in his own right.
  • He believed that sailing west from Europe was the shorter route to Asia.
  • He met with King Henry VII.
  • On May 1498, he departed from Bristol with five ships and a crew of 300 men and there is now many stories on how or why they never made it back.

  • Francisco Pizarro was born circa 1476 in Trujillo, Spain. 
  • Pizarro grew up without learning how to read.
  •  In 1510, he accompanied Spanish explorer Alonzo de Ojeda on a voyage to Urabá, Colombia.
  • In 1513 he joined the march to the "South Sea".
  • n 1524, Pizarro teamed up with navigator Diego de Almagro and a priest named Fernando de Luque.
  • In 1532, accompanied by his brothers, Pizarro overthrew the Inca leader Atahualpa and conquered Peru. 
  • In 1535 he founded the new capital city of Lima.
  • Conquistadors were torn into two factions—one run by Pizarro.
  • The Pizarro brothers had a victory in 1538.
  • On June 26, 1541 he was assassinated.
