Meeting Rufus

Kenny is worried that they will make fun of him, too, if he is friends with Rufus, but Rufus attaches himself to Kenny at recess. Kenny shares his lunch with Rufus and is surprised when Rufus saves part of the sandwich he gives him. Kenny finds out later that it is for Cody, Rufus's little brother.

Byron And the Bird

To his horror, he kills the bird. Byron gently scoops up the dove and cradles it before he starts to vomit and cry. As Kenny tries to comfort him, Bryon punches Kenny and throws rotten apples at him.

Kenny and the rest of the family wake up every once in a while, but everybody mostly sleeps until Momma finally announces that they're home (she means her home of course). Momma's so excited, she starts honking the horn like a crazy woman. Kenny is surprised that Birmingham looks so much like Flint, with regular houses and great big trees.
