Hi everyone, my name is Dalia Bello. I am born and raised in the San Fernando Valley. I have three older siblings, that makes me the youngest so 4 kids in total along with both my parents. I am 20 years old. I don’t have a job at the moment but I am a full time college student.

I like to hangout with my sister in law and my older brother. A few of my other hobbies include going hiking at Veterans Park. Going to the beach during the summer. I go out with my parents on the weekends to eat, and just other places that we enjoy.

What Psychology means to me

The word psychology to me means the profound exploration of the human mind and behavior. Therefore, it refers to the way humans think, the emotions they experience, the way they act. When someone is studying psychology they learn about all the different psychological principles and theories. By studying psychology students understand how to breakdown our actions and emotions. Because it really is about studying the mind which makes someone act a certain way.

I switched over from Public Health to Psychology because it is still about science but more importantly on compassion. I decided to switch to the psychology field because it still focuses on understanding human nature and the address of mental health issues.

In fields like nursing, the application of psychology is invaluable, as it helps in developing effective patient communication and care strategies. Psychiatric Nursing is what appealed to me when I first began thinking of becoming a nurse in high school. By learning psychology and being a nurse one can comfort their patients and understand them on a deeper level because of the knowledge from studying and hands on experience.

I enjoy listening to true crime podcasts specifically from Stephanie Soo. Her podcast is called Rotten Mango. I became a fan of hers in 2018. She is one of my favorites because of her tone of voice when she’s telling the stories. Her voice is not boring, she is very entertaining.
