         <title>UN Rights of the Child 1989</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>The Right of the child Act 1989 is in place to protect, safeguard and ensure the welfare of children within 54 Articles that are in place. These Articles have been agreed worldwide to ensure protection from risk and harm to children around the world.<br>There are many Articles that are being implemented within schools and their educational frameworks.  The first Article that we have looked at is Article 19 where every child has the right to be safeguarded, and protected for risk or harm. This is implemented within school as there are policies in place such as; the Health and Safety Policy and the Safeguarding Policy. These policies protect both children and adults from any risk that may be present within schools and in personal situations.<br>The next Article we have looked at is Article 24, which states that every child has the right to be healthy and have available clean safe water and nutritious food. This is implemented within schools by having a healthy food plate chart on display near the dining halls to encourage healthy eating. Water bottles and water fountains are available for children at all times. This implements the right to clean safe water. Both the Health and Safety Policy and PSHE lesson are in place to identify risks by carrying out risk assessments and making children aware of personal care and hygiene. This is reinforced by having time limits in classes, and having signs up in relevant areas, such as,' wash your hands' in the toilets, and having tissue paper available in classroom for those little sneezing episodes!</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>If a child discloses that they are being harmed by others, we must follow the schools safeguarding procedures such as listen to child and report to class teacher who will then report to designated safeguarding officer. All concerns are written up and signed and dated. It is now the duty of the safeguarding officer to investigate and involve other agencies if necessary .</div>]]></description>
