They communicated through a crack in the wall k separated their houses and so fell in love. One night they decided to stay. Tisbe arrived the first, this one met a lioness and fled, hid in a rock but the veil fell and the lioness stained it with blood. Piramo discovered the veil and believed that the lioness had killed her beloved, pulled a dagger and committed suicide. When Tisbe left his hiding place he saw his beloved with the dagger in his chest, this hug and suicide in turn.

When Pyramus arrives he is horrified at the sight of Thisbe's veil, assuming that a wild beast has killed her. Pyramus kills himself, and in turn splashing blood on the white mulberry leaves. Pyramus' blood stains the white mulberry fruits, turning them dark.
