The problems he mentioned with schooling was that the segregation of schools often times has a negative affect on the children themselves. They lack the association with other groups of people which causes the discrimination and stereotyping to be worse. He delivered the information in a comedic way. After providing a serious point on the issue he would then follow it with a joke to lighten the situation. NY is the most segregated
If you just assign children to neighborhood schools, and their neighborhoods are segregated, then their schools will be segregated. The schools in New York basically never bothered to desegregate.
