         <description><![CDATA[<div>After WWII Hechler soon became a staff member for President Truman. Hechler would make rebuttals and analytical testimonies for the President's campaign speeches. These rebuttals would be a response to the Republicans or media. Hechler's speeches were meant to capture Truman's political involvement to the common person. </div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>When WWII was beginning Hechler was holding a government job. He was soon drafted and became an officer with his college education. Hechler was sent as a tank commander and later was went into the office. For Hechler, he did not like this idea he pleaded to be on the battlefield. He soon found himself paroling German infantry lines and driving across the US in a Jeep. When the War was coming to an end Hechler was sent an assignment. His assignment was to write Historical accounts of Germans. In this assignment, Hechler interviewed high-rank German authorities and families.</div>]]></description>

In 2009 Hechler and 31 others were arrested for trespassing a protest about mountaintop removal. This just shows you how much Hechler cared for WV.</div>]]></description>
