The story of Bianca Gray starts in the snow filled early winter of 1999. Her parents were fresh out of college and much to immature to raise a dog let alone a child. Their short term relationship ended abruptly, not even a year into the birth of their first, and only, child. Her father visited every other weekend for nine years before dropping off the face of the earth leaving her in the care of her mother. Life after that was mundane for the most part. Her mother did everything she could to make life interesting. Putting Bianca in different sports such as volleyball. Placing her in acting classes and sending her to writing camps. Even made her volunteer with girls in foster care to make her appreciate what she had. 

    I suppose it wore her mother out, playing both the role of mother and father. She was diagnosed with breast cancer at the end of Bianca's freshman year of high school and passed away at the beginning of her senior year.Thankfully, she also had her grandmother to rely on who gracious enough to take her in for her final year but it life never felt the same. 

    So that's the tale of Bianca Simone Gray. The story of me.
A social justice movement that interests me would be the #SayHerName movement along with the movements for equal representation in entertainment specifically when it relates to colorism. I often find myself more concerned with issues that affect me and my social location as a black american woman although I am aware that is not the only thing that defines me as a person. Another movement I found myself backing is the Free Palestine movement. I don't support things just to support them. I support things that have meaning to me.
