Our WSBA Turtle Watch shop in Akrotiri is currently run by only three volunteers, and we desperately need more help to keep it open more often.
We also run pop‑up stalls at community events like Aki Fest and Party in the Park — great fun and a fantastic way to support the cause!

The community is advised that the following playgrounds have reached, or will shortly reach, the end of their life span. These areas are considered unsafe to use and will remain out of bounds until they are repaired.

• Fermanagh Road (B.H) — This playground is now out of bounds and is expected to remain closed until 29 November 2026.

• South Paramali – Dorset — Out of bounds as of 9 June 2026.

• North Paramali — Out of bounds as of 9 June 2026.

The community is asked to avoid these areas for safety reasons until the necessary works are completed. Thank you for your cooperation in keeping everyone safe.

To keep everyone informed, BFPO Post Offices across the Island will be moving to standardised opening hours. With new staff now in place, the team is aligning schedules to provide a more consistent—and in some locations, improved—service for all customers.

These changes should make visits easier for many families, including parents who may wish to stop by after school pick‑up.

The updated hours will take effect from Monday 3 August, allowing two weeks for clear communication before the transition.

• Tuesday: 0800–1430 (6.5 hours)

• Wednesday: 0800–1430 (6.5 hours)

Geocaching is a fun family adventure that will encourage everyone to explore Happy Valley together, working as a team to hunt for hidden caches using handheld GPS devices.

As families follow the coordinates, they will discover hidden troves, enjoy the outdoors, and spend quality time together while tackling the challenge of finding each location.

The caches will contain small treasures!, and families are encouraged to bring along a small item to swap, such as a toy car, keyring, badge, or toy soldier, taking another item in exchange. The aim is to create a memorable family experience filled with exploration, discovery, and a little treasure-hunting excitement along the way. There would be 8 caches, so you would need 8 small items to swap.

 But please, do not leave sweets or chocolates as these will attract rodents and ants!

To get involved Please collect a handheld GPS device from the Home-Start WSBA office. Our contact details are on the poster attached.

These speed restrictions play a vital role in reducing accidents and maintaining a safe, secure environment for everyone living and working within the garrison. Drivers are expected to remain alert, exercise due care and operate their vehicles responsibly at all times 🚦🛑.
