This was to my advantage, as being a photography student, I am already very aware of using the software confidently.
On the image to the left, I used the paint image as the background, adding in a separate shape of the diamond and renting it to each corner which proved difficult as the diamond had to be scaled with the square.  I then placed in the text and institutional logos which were .png files with no background and therefore went into the black diamond smoothly. I ensured all the aspects of text on this image were centred as a convention and logos were aligned with them. The text is believable and accurate in terms of context, with artist's names and institutional information. The small 'SHIFT' logo in the middle was made by using a white diamond .png file and placing the text over in the same font as my front cover. Again, my background was of the paint on water pattern, yet due to the black in it, I had to use the 'select' tool to move the background around in order to get the pattern in the right place for the audience to be able to read clearly. I also wanted some red to come through as subtle hints of the colour scheme. I had to 'rastercize' the text in order to make it so that I could delete the letter shapes in order for the background to be seen. This was time consuming as I had to do each letter individually but worth it as I am pleased with the final outcome and how conventional it is in terms of the text's colour. I decided on 'shift' as it connotes an electronic (keyboard) feel as well as having many different meanings in terms of context; shifts in emotion, thought, life, and it meaning 'movement' of something, it is perfect for a musical band name. With 'Breezeblocks' having lots of implied meanings, I thought an idiom would be appropriate for the album name. 'For Your Thoughts', 'Method To Madness' and many others eventually lead me to 'Insult To Injury' which seemed subtly fitting with the music video and how it only gets worse with the dramatic ending.
