In Spain, public transport is well used. This means that a lot of people would leave their automobiles at home. Using public transport is a way of minimize environmental pollution and with the new technology, many vehicles are being manufactured so that they pollute way less than before. Also, it is expected in Spain that by 2030, more or less, the manufacturing of combustion cars will stop.
However, other countries and capitals are way better in sustainability than Spain.
Amsterdam, for example, highlights the construction of 400 kilometers of exclusive routes for cyclists (about 60% of trips in the city are made by bicycle).
Copenhagen is another city where bicycles are of great importance. It has more than 350 kilometers of bike paths throughout the city, which makes it easier for 62% of citizens to prefer bikes to go to study, work or shopping.
Last but not least, in Rio de Janeiro electric bicycles and cars are also strong , but one of the projects for which it is most recognized is the city's Operations Center, an intelligent mobility system that collects and analyzes the information provided by sensors, cameras and devices located at 215 strategic points in the city in order to decongest the roads.
In conclusion, Spain is doing well but, as always, it could do much better and work a lot more in the salvation of our planet.

In the two most populous countries in the world, China and India, only 17% and 6% of households, respectively, have a car. On the other hand, in 60% of Chinese households and 47% of Indian households there is a motorcycle, and in more than six out of ten households of the two Asian giants they have bicycles as a means of transport.
In Africa, locomotion vehicles are scarce: where there are more cars is in South Africa (31% of households), but in most countries their presence is testimonial. In the Asia-Pacific region, the differences between countries are very relevant: in South Korea, Malaysia and Japan, more than eight out of ten households own a car, while in Bangladesh and Vietnam the rate barely reaches 2%.
In several Southeast Asian countries, the number of households with motorcycles is extremely high: Thailand (87%), Vietnam (86%), Indonesia (85%), Malaysia (83%), mainly. Among the countries surveyed, the highest rate of bicycles per household is in Germany (80%), but among the seven European countries featured in the study do not include the Netherlands, Denmark or other northern European countries, where the bicycle is even more popular.
In Spain, 79% of households say they have a car; 17 per cent, a motorcycle; and 51%, a bicycle.

Here, it is an interview I did to my mother. I asked her a couple of questions. Also, I have uploaded a web page where you can see the process of recycling. Here is my interview:
How do you recycle at home?
Well, we have different trash cans at home. In one, we throw organic waste (what is not recycled) and then we have another bucket to deposit what goes to the yellow container (plastics, tetrabricks, etc).
Also, we have a bag in which we throw paper and cardboard; and a small dustbin in which we pour the glass.
In addition, we put the plastic caps of the bottles in another bag that we later take to the high school, since these are collected to help the most needy people.
Likewise, we recycle used frying oil and put it in plastic bottles and throw it into a specific container for it that they have put in our town.
Finally, appliances, batteries, light bulbs, printer cartridges, etc. that no longer work, we take them to a waste facility (punto limpio) in Navalcarnero.
Do you think that in Spain the recycling process is carried out properly?
I believe that recycling is not promoted, that people mix things up and do not take it seriously. Sometimes I have even seen the garbage truck dump the two containers, the green and the yellow, in the same place, so I guess they mixed everything up.
In addition, in Aldea they do not collect the yellow container every day so, especially in summer, all the rubbish scattered on the ground fills up and ends up, so it is lost in the environment and is not recycled.
I also think that some things could be done like in some foreign countries, they have recycling machines and they give you some money every time you recycle, and I believe it would be a good way to promote recycling and get people interested more for it.
