Why do I want to be a certified teacher?

Maybe I'd be a 'natural' teacher. But want I to be prepared in case I am not. Certified is like wearing armor and having enough weapons when you walk on the battle field.

I was labeled with a learning disability in elementary school. But I graduated college with honors and went on to pursue a law degree. I am licensed to practice law in two states.

What used to be called 'learning disability' is now being called gifted. I am learning that current trends in education make use of a child's 'out-of-box' thought process.

I used to be idealistic and hopeful.

Then I went to law school. There I learned that there is 'no truth' only one's perception of the truth. I also realized how incredibly short-sighted idealism is. Idealistic is simply not thinking through all the possible outcomes but instead just focusing on the outcome you want most. I am still hopeful. I am hopeful that if we are strong enough to think things through we can make the world a better place.
