In the 1800's people did not have lie detectors, so they would have 2 options usually one was to tie her up and throw her into a lake, if the floated back up she was a witch and if the drowned she want not, not the most effective way to tell who was what but that's how they did it. Or they would have Trials for these so called witches, the odds would be put together in front of the whole town to decide if a woman was guilty of witchery or not, if found guilty they have either been burned at the stake alive while everyone watched or drowned because they accidentally did something the ruined their life.

Today people are able to upload stories on any website you can imagine, Tik tok, snapchat, Instagram ect, in the 2010's there was a website creates called creepypasta.org where people would create scary stories and post them on this website to scare or make people interested. One gut wrenching story that led to havoc on 3 girls was a tall thin man with no face he would be spotted in the forest with pale white skin and a black suit and tie. Always looking for kids to play with, he would call them into the forest according to the story and take them away from their families never to be seen again. This man was dubbed slender man.
