They created an antislavery petition on April 18th, 1688, which denounced oppression due to skin color by equating it with oppression due to religion. This petition was the first piece of writing that was antiracist among European settlers in America<br><br></div>]]></description>

         <title>Gabriel Prossers attempted slave revolt in Virginia (1800)</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>In 1800 over 50,000 slaves were going to rebel in Virginia. The plan was to go to Richmond and overwhelm the government. However, two slaves informed their  master of the revolt and the Virginia Militia shut down the revolt before it was really able to start. Gabriel, two of his brothers, and 23 other people were hanged because of their involvement in the revolt.</div>]]></description>
