Intent
In serving clients, San Pablo EDC encounters demand for referral to childcare services that range from daycare to preschool. Childcare for working families is a challenge given cost versus the income threshold required for most subsidy. Following is a list of resources for those seeking these services.

• Offers center-based and alternative payment CalWORKs Voucher program for infants to age 5, and to age 12 for the vouchers

Early Learning Center (at Contra Costa College)

• While a great service to all and located next to a transit center, residents of the incorporated City of San Pablo have access to subsidy at ELC if their child is enrolled.

• Head Start Preschool Program provides low to no-cost high quality child care and early learning for low-income families.
• Serving children from birth to 5 years old.

West Contra Costa Unified School District
• Has a large State Preschool program that serves 3-5 year olds at various sites throughout the District https://www.wccusd.net/earlylearning and of course they have Transitional Kindergarten for 4-5 year olds

It’s hard to keep a job if your health needs, physical or emotional, are not being met. We will help you access health insurance, learn how to navigate the health care system, and advocate for yourself. We offer specialized workshops covering topics that include smoking cessation and managing and preventing diabetes and high blood pressure. We will help you address your emotional needs from dealing with everyday stress to addressing past trauma.

In Richmond, Antioch, and Concord: Please call to make an appointment with one of our Ambassadors. An Ambassador is a current Rubicon participant who will meet with you one-on-one to answer any questions you might have about the program, and give you a tour of our facilities. If our program seems like a good fit, you will be scheduled to meet with one of our Impact Coaches to discuss your goals and our program eligibility requirements. Please call Monday–Friday, 9am–6pm.

CalWorks Counseling Program

The CalWORKS Counseling Program consists of about 24 weeks, more or less depending on need, of individual and group counseling. Each week you will meet for one hour with your individual counselor and for one and a half hours in a group meeting with other CalWORKS participants.
