During my 10th-grade year my English teacher would make us do Socratic Seminars where the class would sit in a circle and discuss certain topics! I learned so much from those seminars and I was able to gain much insight.

When you take notes you have end goals in mind: You have to copy the information and then later you look over the notes to retain the information. 
2. Math is a subject where there is technically one correct answer but there are multiple ways to get to that answer.
