This is an interesting sentence because of the way the smell is described. You can't smell actions but the sentence still gives you a feeling of whats going on. This line is very descriptive and builds the setting well.

"What if we sail into Camp Jupiter, and he says, Hey, Romans! Check out these prisoners and his cool ship I brought you!"

I like this sentence because it shows the inner thoughts of the characters and the author does this often.

"The cold pressed closer. She thought she heard a faint voice in the wind, laughing. Every muscle in her body tensed."

I like this sentence not only because it's descriptive but it foreshadows something coming.
