A man finds him and yells that he's back there. Alfie runs outside. He wonders whey nobody was being taken care of. Then he sees a man who is selling fruit. Then Alfie sees Georgie but George doesn't notices him

Then he trips in a bucket of the mans pee. Then he goes outside and see's his dad. But Georgie doesn't recognize him. But soon he does.


Chapter 9. Alfie is back shining shoes and people are always saying the war will be over by christmas,But in one of Georgie's letters he says they don't say what what christmas it will end.  Then a man walks into the shoeshine place and asks for his shoes to be shined, but what Alfie doesn't know that this man is the Prime Minister. THen the last person Alfie expected to see today walks in. His mum. Alfie pulls his cap down over his face so Margie couldn't reconize him. And it worked! them Margie starts talking and the man says that he is the prime minister and thats how Alfie finds out he is the Prime minister. He sits there shoeshines people's shoes. That day he was doing great. A man came up to him. They had a long conversation and the man was very nice. Then Alfie realived that a lady was walking torreds him. It was his mom. Then his mom started talking right behind his back. Then Alfie noticed she was she wasn't talking to him. She was talking to the guy getting his shoe's shined. Alfie over herd her saying prime misister. After that when the coversation was over the prime minister gave Alfie 3 pennies. The next week a docter got his shoes shined and Alfie and him had a conversation about how the doctor was in the army and how he gave people meds so they didn't go phsyco or mad. He sees a row of men sitting or laying in hospital beds. One guy doesn't have an arm or leg, one is plugging his ears because the tea pot is going off and the last one is tearing out pages from a book after he reads the page. Then he tripped over a bucket,he finds out the bucket was full of pee and a tiny bit of blood.then he hears a nurse and Doctor talking about how they could do nothing about the guys. Then he sneezed and the nurse came in,wondering who he is. He lied and said his father was the milk man which was kinda true. She told him to go outside and showed him the way. Outside he saw a man the man told him to come closer,when Alfie was almost touching his face the man grabbed him and said "I'm not going back". Alfie ran away and just looked back at him. Alfie started looking around. He saw Gorgie, he was so excited. When Alvie enters the hospital he gets caught by two people and he lies to them saying his dad is  working  as the milk man and he wants to go visit him but he is lying. When Allie leaves he feels like he fails but he sees this garden entry and feel ski,e maybe his father will be there. And so he is searching around the mysterious garden that he might think his dad is in. And he sees a person in a wheel chair with his hat low so he walks to him AND Its his dad. His dad is unconscious and cannot remember him until alfie finds a newspaper and shows it to his dad and says remember me dad. And the dad says Alfie? And that was the end of the chapter. Chapter nine was alfie just back to normal he was just polishing people shoes until this on lady comes up to the customer(his mother) is a big fan of the customer and the customer asks where are you going young lady. And she says my husband is a hospital and I'm going to go visit him. And when they where done talking the mom went to the ticket booth and bought a ticket for herself to go to Ipswich hospital to see her husband. And then the customer asks alfie do you have any siblings. And alfie says no and then the customer asks do you have a father and alfie says he's fighting in the war right now and the man says do you have a mother and if you do what I'd her name and alfie lies and says something else other than his real mothers name. And when the customer leaves another guy come but this time it's the same guy that dropped all of his newspaper on the ground. And that's all when alfie found out that his father was in the Ipswich hospital and so alfie polishes his Shoes for him and than the customer leaves and says he will come back next week see you later alfie says PERHAPS.

He finds it and goes in it to look for his father. He goes to an office and here's someone walking down so he runs in a room. The room has 2 men laying in a row. One of the men grab him and he tries to pull away and knocks over a glass of urine and falls in it. He runs out and ducks behind a desk and here's a nurse and a doctor talking he sneezes and They find him. He says he's the milkmans son and gets free. He goes outside and finds his dad and his dad doesn't remember him and he uses a news paper to refresh his memory

She told him that her husband was in the the hospital because he got hurt in the war. Then she went back to the tickets fo the hospital. Then Alfie talks more with the guy and asks if he's mayor. The mayor asks about his family. He lies about that. Then mayor pays and leaves . The same guy who dropped his paper came to get his shoes shinned .
