Introduction

I started Golf about 1-2 years ago and I really enjoyed it! My sister has influenced me a lot and really motivates me to get up and go hit some golf balls to improve my skill. Some people think golf is boring but I think it is fun, when you actually know how to do it.

Step 1: Learning your hands and feet position

First, adjust your hands and feet so they are positioned to hit the ball right. Your hands need to feel comfortable when you hold the club. Not to tight and not to loose. Also, your feet need to be parallel to each other, and that the ball is aligned in the middle of your feet. Your feet should be shoulder width apart.

Step 2: The Backswing

Next, on your backswing make sure your left arm is straight. Your right arm should be curved, it is not like hitting a baseball! Also, your hips need to turn with the club. The club should be at an angle not straight up.

Step 3: The Follow Through

Then, on your follow through keep your eyes on the ball. Your wrist should be straight. But your knees should be bent. Also-like on your backswing- make sure your hips turn with the club.

Finally, once you hit the ball your back foot should be up and hips turned. Hold your finish for about two seconds. After you have a great postion, backswing, and followthrough, you can hit the ball! It is ok if you do not hit it right the first time, just keep trying. Golfing is all about patience and focus.

I interviewed my sister Tiffany to see if she had any tips or suggestions and this is what I got. Some tips and suggestions that Tiffany had were "not to bend your knees, and do not hover over the ball. Also relax, take your time, hitting it as hard as you can will not help getting the ball to go far, also go to the driving range or practice swinging- without a ball- in your yard. Some golf courses have golf pro's so if you can higher a pro to help you with your swing then do it." (Hagemann)
(T. Hagemann, personal communication, April 26, 2017)
