f/2.2 , 1/120 sec, ISO 50

In this photo, it is a selfie of me in my neighborhood. I was trying to express how I am happy to live in the neighborhood.

I decided to use the rule of thirds in the picture to capture interest. There were no problems during the process. It's bright because it's a place I see with happy memories. This was used by the smile on my face to show my happiness.

Principles of Photography: Rule of Thirds

f/32, 1/160 sec, ISO 1600

In the photo, it is of two bunches of flowers in a tree. I was trying to express how beautiful nature can be.

I decided to pose the photo like that to draw more interest towards the flowers. By aligning the flowers in the rule of thirds graph, the eye would draw to flower in the top left corner and the audience would admire how beautiful it looked. Because it was so high up, I did have to use the zoom but it was not a big issue.

Principles of Photography: Leading Lines

f/10, 1/4000 sec, ISO 1600
In the photo, it is a bench in the foreground that guides the eye to the tree. I was trying to express how you can find leading lines anywhere in the world if you look hard enough.

I decided to position the picture like this to show how the leading line leads to the tree. This position displays the principle the best so that's why the photo is taken at this angle. I first saw the bench and the tree but was stumped as to how I could use leading lines in the picture. I then found the perfect position and took the picture. That was the only problem in taking this photo.

Principles of Photography: Bokeh

f/9, 1/4000 sec, ISO 1600

In the photo, it is a tree with leaves blurred in the background. I was trying to express how bokeh can be incorporated into daily life.
I found this tree and saw leaves in the background so that is why this tree was used for bokeh. Because it was monochrome, I had to make it underexposed for a better photo. I had to zoom in since the tree was so high up but that was the only issue.

f/5, 1/4000 sec, ISO 1600

In the picture, it is the board with the words "I Pledge" in the middle with many post-it notes around it. I was trying to express the repetition on the board.
Seeing this board and having many repeating squares on it, I decided to take a picture of it following the repetition principle. I took this picture straight on to capture all of the post-its. There were no problems during this process.

f/22, 1/320 sec, ISO 1600

In the photo, it was a tree that had three big branches with ribbon tied around each branch. I was trying to express the rule of thirds principle with the ribbons.
I lined up the ribbons in the rule of thirds graph in my mind in order to achieve the effect that the rule of thirds has. The tree looked extra interesting with the ribbons so that is why I decided to take a picture of it. I did have to adjust my position to get the best picture I could get from the tree, but that was biggest issue I had.

f/25, 1/640 sec, ISO 1600

In the picture, it was at the basketball courts with the hoop structures. I was trying to express how the basketball courts can be photographed using a principle of photography.
Again, I mentally came up with the rule of thirds graph in my mind then matched the structures with the vertical lines of the graph. The picture was monochrome so it was slightly underexposed. The rule of thirds seemed to suit the basketball courts best so that is why I used that principle. There were no problems during the process.

I was trying to express how great of a friend Deanna is.
I told Deanna to move around until she lined up with the rule of thirds graph so she would look more interesting, using the graph. It was monochrome so the photo was underexposed. There were no problems while taking this photo.

f/9, 1/4000 sec, ISO 1600

In the picture, it was three benches, all going in diagonal directions. I was trying to express how appropriate the benches follow this principle.
Since the benches seemed perfect for diagonals, I crouched to get all the benches in the position that they are in the photo. In order to get the underexposed look, I had a medium sized aperture and a high shutter speed. There were no problems when taking this photo.

f/9, 1/13, ISO 800

In the picture, it is a snow globe with all the glitter in one spot. I was trying to express how people do not notice they can achieve this look and I am displaying what it would look like.
I used a low aperture to create a nice bokeh effect and so it is easier to focus on the glitter. I also put the glitter in the center of the image so it would draw more focus. My mom had to hold up the globe since I could not hold the globe and take the picture at the same time, but that was the only issue when taking the photo.
