MANDATORY -- 1st year -- Why do you want to be a nurse? When did you decide you wanted to be a nurse? Did anyone or anything influence your decision?

Initially nursing wasn't my first choice, I wanted to study medicine but I didn’t pass the test, so I decided to try the health professions’ one, in particular for pediatric nursing, and it was the best choice I have ever done. I was not sure of this choice but, after starting the lessons and especially the internship, I understood that this is my true path. I like being in contact with children, making them feel special, helping them feel good, hearing from parents: "look, there's your favorite nurse" makes me feel even better and I understand that maybe I'm really heading towards the right path. My parents are very proud of me: they always support me in every decision I make and they tell me to do what is the best for me, that makes me feel good and happy.

Vaccination is a very important process. Right from birth, you need to get vaccinated to prevent many diseases. The COVID vaccine might have been scary at first, but it was necessary to do so, to put an end to the pandemic. So let's try to get vaccinated as much as possible, not only for COVID but also for other diseases, such as the papilloma virus or HPV, because it is important not only for ourselves but also for the fragile people around us.

Who did you work with? How did you feel at the end of your first shift?

I did my first internship in OBI, Short Intensive Observation, it is part of the DEA, which is divided into OBI, emergency room and red area. I have to admit that the first week was a bit difficult because I found myself in a new and unknown environment, so I had to adapt myself to this new experience. As the weeks went by, I became more familiar with the department and the nurses, but above all with the patients. In the ward I was with a university colleague of mine: we were always accompanied by different nurses supervisors and we also interacted with the doctors both during the rounds and during the briefings. At the end of my first internship I was satisfied with all the work I did, proud of myself. Now I have started the second part of the internship and I hope it will go even better.

Grey's Anatomy is a medical drama centered on the life of Dr. Meredith Grey, a young girl who, after graduating from medical school, manages to join the group of surgical interns at Seattle Grace Hospital. She moves to Seattle, to her mother (Ellis Grey)’s old house, who is a world-famous doctor specializing in general surgery. This makes her feel a lot the weight of her surname. The night before starting the internship, Meredith meets Derek, a charming man with whom she spends the whole night in a pub. The next day he discovers that he is Dr. Shepherd, a neurosurgeon at Seattle Grace, as well as her supervisor. Initially their relationship creates many problems at work, especially after the arrival of Addison Montgomery, Derek's ex-wife. In the meantime, Meredith makes friends with her colleagues, Cristina, Alex, George, Izzy and they begin specialization in surgery under the guidance of the head of residents Miranda Bailey. It's a series made up of 20 seasons, where the main themes are: drama, love and friendships. I don't want to spoil anything else, so I recommend you to watch it.
