summarize my "trauma-informed, gender-affirming, and antiracist classroom policy" in your own words. why do you think I have a policy like this?

students are not required to disclose trauma in this course, but can do so in writing if they feel comfortable. the course content may trigger emotions related to trauma, so self-care is encouraged. students should be open to feedback and criticism from others, but should avoid sharing works they are not ready to subject to public scrutiny or that are offensive. any work deemed racist, sexist, homophobic, etc., will require a revision plan, and if not revised, may receive a zero grade. it is important to hold oneself and others accountable for problematic works in a trauma-informed, gender-affirming, and antiracist space. professor hoover includes this policy to ensure the safety of oneself and others that might find various topics triggering. this allows to keep a positive classroom environment and safe space.

i think the most important campus resource to me is the wellness center. i feel as college students, we don't always express our feelings when it comes to the ups and downs throughout or life and more specifically the academic school year. college is not always easy, but it's crucial to know who's here to help you during difficult times. an example, scheduling an appointment for counseling can help you express and understand your feelings even more. by doing this you're allowing these counselors to help you be the best version of yourself.
