While their mother is away, the piggies go into the kitchen to make Mama a  surprise treats. While in the kitchen, they make a big mess while trying not to get caught by Mama.

I like how the author incorporates a rhythm and rhymes. The book itself is catchy and will keep the children guessing who is coming next. Piggies in the Kitchen allow children to learn a variety of rhyming words. I also liked how the author used various examples onomatopoeia. The papa pig helps the piggies bake the treats.
