From my point of view this is a book that marks you. It shows you how times were during the second world war. The soldiers did not have moral values or conscience; they killed millions of people just because they were from another race or religion. A year ago I visited a concentration camp in Munich and I saw where they lived, how they killed them and the horrible things the soldiers did and I finish crying because I could not explain myself how a human could do that. 
I love the book because it shows you to appreciate your life.

Luck is hardwork, determination, perseverance, willpower... Life is fair with the ones who work for it.
