A change in the inner city in Glasgow is that many tenement buildings were run-down, so the government invested money to renovate tenements by putting in new windows, bathrooms and double glazing. Old grid iron streets and increased car ownership cause congestion so new transport links suck as Partick Interchange were built. Employment rates were low so the government invested in the service sector which created many jobs in call centres. Another change in the inner city in Glasgow is that the area looked very run-down so trees were planted to impove the appearance of the area and encourage people to move back. The city did not have much income but generated income by building the SECC, therefore bringing tourists and businesses.

Changes that have taken place in the inner city in recent years is Glaswegians at one point all worked in heavy manufacturing now they all mostly work in offices and entertainment. New developments have been built such as imax cinema which were developed in pacific quay to increase the amount of people coming into the inner city. The government invested money to renovate old run down buildings by putting in new windows, bathrooms and double glazing. Land scaling and trees were provided to improve the run down areas . Many unused derelict buildings were converted into flats and old dock land and shipbuilders yards were converted into high expensive flats. More museum and attractions were built to bring in more tourists and visitors into the city to regenerate the inter city area.

Glasgow used to have more than 50 shipyards, now there are just 2 shipyards and 1 dock. The old docks were an example of a brownfield site. No glasgowweigians work in heavy manufacturing as most people now work in offices. No heavy industry means no income so they built the SECC. Tourism has been encouraged with many new hotels. There have been a number of projects put in place to redevelop and improve inner city areas in Glasgow today, recognition is still on going in the east end.nth degree main focus of government funding is in the east of Glasgow. In case buildings fall, many are converted into flats. Old grid street plus increased car ownership caused congestion problems so new transport links like the Patrick interchange was built. Old industry landscapes have been renovated such as the Clyde waterfront development, new buildings such as the hydro, and the new business units such as the media and the creative hub at pacific bay

The site doesn’t look that pleasing so many trees and landscapes have been made to attract people into the area. Many tourists don’t come to this area so many attractions such as museums have been built for them to visit. The increase in cars caused congestion in the area so new transport links have been made to stop it. The area has a low income so people create income through visitors and businesses. The housing is poor quality so the government invested money to renovate and improve housing by adding double glazing, windows etc. Many people struggle to make income as it’s hard to get employed so many buildings for tourism have been made for people the work there.
