To be a radiologist, you are a physician who specializes in using medical imaging to diagnose and treat illness. You review many times of imaging services such as MRI, CT, X-ray, and more. As a radiologist, you are responsible for reading these images and coming up with a diagnosis of what is wrong or not wrong. A typical workday would be taking these images and reading through them and studying these images to make a diagnosis.

https://www.acr.org/Practice-Management-Quality-Informatics/Practice-Toolkit/Patient-Resources/About-Radiology#:~:text=Radiologists%20are%20medical%20doctors%20that,tomography%20(PET)%20and%20ultrasound.

The environment I would be working in would be a doctors office. I would personally want to work in the hospital and not a branched off office where there are appointments. I want to be in the hospital for the admitted patients and the ER. Radiologists typically work around 40-60 hours per week and I would not work every night and weekend but maybe some. I would want to work during the daytime. As a radiologist, you collaborate with doctors and you work together on some things but when it comes to the final decision of the diagnosis, the radiologist works alone. The job is not emotionally demanding but is physically demanding because the hours are a lot. This job is also inside.

https://www.gmercyu.edu/academics/learn/radiology-tech-career-information

To be a radiologist, you need to complete a program in radiology technology that is approved by the ARRT. Pennsylvania has programs at the certificate, associate, and bachelor's level. You need to be nice and welcoming and calming because this can be scary for patients. You need to be medically trained and ready for emergencies. Any science courses would be appreciated for this field.

https://www.webmd.com/cancer/cancer-what-radiologist
