The tribute was making him gain tons of power. Every 6 months he would receive gifts from his people. The empire continued to expand and so did Itzcoatl's power. He wanted all history of the Aztecs destroyed. He thought it contained lies. He added a new history that had legends and such within it.

It effected there daily lives alot. Then they split classes more and more the older the empire got there was nobles and wealthy. The lower class couldn't enter the palace. The boys were trained as warriors and the girls learned how to do housing work.

The higher class boys were still warriors but learned how to do writing medcine and how to dance.

The poor classes didn't like how the Itzcoatl was placing rules they had to follow. No one wanted to be a part of the empire anymore. While the people were paying tribute the people would lose resources for themselves. They often fought with the empire and threatened leaving.
