No Judicial branch of Government which means no court system.
No Executive branch of Government so that means no president .
They lost their two main trading partners Britain because of tariffs and Spain because they closed of the Mississippi river.
Another weakness was they could ask for money and solider's that a good thing right? well not if the states could reject the request.
last but not least the states had majority of the power.
The reason these are weaknesses is because without the Judicial branch or Executive branch that means that power isn't split evenly through out the 13 colonies or through out the branches because they only had a Legislative branch for congress and just putting that in the colonies made their government weak and the government could of just been stopped and not moving forwards.

They gave congress limited powers so that they didn't become a tyranny like Britain.
Congress could settle conflicts between states.
they could also make treaties with other countries and with native Americans.
Again last but not least congress can borrow money. 
The reason these are strengths is because without these abilities their government would just be like a  building that thinks that it can do everything and control the colonies but with these strengths they truly do have some sort of government because say that their "government" couldn't borrow or ask for money and solider's then you'r country wouldn't have an army or branch of military at all and you government would be poor and then they would go into war and come out with 1,000 solider's with flintlock pistols while the other country has 100,000 solider's with muskets and blunderbusses with flintlocks and you'r country has a better chance of running away than fighting. but wth all of these strengths it changes your entire government and flips war efforts and you'r country all the way around]]> 2018-12-05 17:19:35 UTC https://padlet.com/Preston4th/wjori7kfu274/wish/311477757 Preston4th https://padlet.com/Preston4th/wjori7kfu274/wish/311798598 The Articles of Confederation failed because they didn't make another branch of government and only had congress which was a giant, giant weakness and without any other branch the government pretty much fell apart even against a group of farmers, (Shay's Rebellion) and since they only had the Legislative branch for congress that means that they didn't have a president or a court system. and they many more weaknesses including their power because the states seemed to hold most of the power out of everything and the so called "government" which was truly weak and it seemed like the states were a better government because they held most of the power as stated earlier and it would of been better if the Articles of Confederation created more than just one branch just have the Legislative and Executive branch and nearly all would be fine. When they just had the Legislative branch nearly everything went wrong with getting over run, trading partners leaving, and money problem as well as military problems.]]> 2018-12-06 14:02:23 UTC https://padlet.com/Preston4th/wjori7kfu274/wish/311798598
