This is when Hurricane Harvey was starting to hit Houston. I came home from school one day to find my bird Rosie passed away while everyone was not home. She was with me throughout middle school and she motivated me to be better every day in school, and be an overall better person. Her death made me realize that we have to be grateful for what we have now and to enjoy it while it lasts.

Around this time Hurricane Harvey hit my neighborhood. Both my front yard and back yard were surrounded by water but luckily our house wasn't damaged. This experience has taught me that we always have to be prepared for the worse case scenarios

My parents went to Mexico to burry my grandma. I was in school still so I, unfortunately, couldn't go with them to pray for her and tell her how much I missed her. This day made me fully grasp that she was gone and that she wouldn't be able to see me and my cousin grow into women in our quinceañera.

I finally got to see my aunts and uncles from both sides of my family. It was amazing seeing how my parents grew up. I got to meet my aunt who my mom would always say I acted exactly like her, and I meet my cousins who are honestly so amazing, I can't wait to see them again. This experience humbled me so much, I am even more grateful for the things I have here in Houston.

This is me celebrating my 16 birthday during COVID 19. This day a lot changed about me bc of the news I got. At the beginning of July, I went to the doctor bc I wasn't feeling well when I got done working out in my backyard, so they took a test and said they would give him a call to tell us the results. On the day of my birthday once I cut my cake we got a call saying I tested positive for coronavirus. This news was devastating to everyone. My parents have to work to bring money home and my siblings and I would stay home so we wouldn't be at risk. This changed me so much because I started to appreciate all the things we do have like my family and friends and to stay positive during this hard time for all of us.
