In the Kentucky flood, one of the hardships. was that the Americans thought that they were better because they were richer and "smarter". Put differently, the whites were bragging about all the food and money they had, when the african americans were struggling to feed their own family.(Kentucky flood)

2. In the Hooverville article, one of the many tragical hardships was that Hoovervilles weren't vert clean. This posed a very big threat of getting sick. Said differently, it was very unsanitary and disgusting which if you lived in it you were risking your own health.
(Hoovervilles)

3. In the book, "Bud. not Buddy, one of the hardships was that the factory workers didn't get treated very well, so the workers started meeting in private to start a union and make a strike against the government. "July 23, 1936. All interested parties please come to 2345 Coldbrook at 9:00. Refreshments will be served. You know what we're up against. Please keep this as confidential as possible." In other words, people were meeting up in secret to over come the government.
(Curtis, 138)
