In chapter 6, they are discussing whether or not they

think the "Jesus Boy" is really Jesus. But honestly I don't think Jesus would come to earth in the form of a child. I also have a feeling in my gut that we're not going to live to see Him. I think Frannie might want to be like Samantha, because Samantha could believe that the boy could be Jesus, but Frannie thinks it's just too crazy to believe that the boy is Jesus.

In chapter six we learned that the grandmother goes to church. Samantha and Frannie: think that he is really jesus come back from the dead, they walk on the right side of the highway with it on the left side of them, and we also learned that Samantha really likes church because she goes to church a lot and she recites from the bible and she reads from it too.
