I like our team lunches! I like the little moments of downtime we have at the office together. Like when Stephanie showed us how to play wavelength! Fun little gems of community :)

With the slime day and camp day, I thought the division of roles and responsibilities was very successful. Everyone had ownership and accountability for they're roles.

I think sending the HOP weekly update emails to each of our hospital sites is helpful for schedule purposes. This allows all of us to be on the same page, note any changes/updates, and also to consistently be communicating with the staff that we work with on site each week.

I know that all of us do our best to see as many kids as we can in good faith. I've seen y'all go out of your way to make something work even if it inconveniences you, and that shows the genuine dedication to the work.

I really enjoyed being on different “teams” for our slime day/ race day. I felt a huge sense of pride afterwards because I put so much of my own creative ideas towards that day.

I've had the most successful interactions with people doing projects that are simple, but allow for many different approaches, and that don't take so much concentration that we can still have fun and fruitful conversations throughout. Being able to do more groups without social distancing restrictions has also created a lot of joy.

Slime days at MSCH and NYU, Camp Days, themed events/playroom parties. I think we all collaborated really well together, everyone on the team was able to contribute and share their strengths, organized from planning until execution of the events.

Fall Harvest Party at St Jospehs was a HIT! The most visited table for sure. A huge shoutout to Morgan for ordering the supplies for me and Mike supporting my crafting decision

Just a shoutout to Taylor. I LOVE sharing sites with her. She is really good at organizing our cabinets and making sure we have the right supplies at each site. Especially when it comes to posca markers and cartooning.

Bringing new and creative programming into all of our hospital sites, sharing projects, crafts and games that were successful, keeping our site storages stocked and communicating around needs. Dividing and conquering long censuses when we have partner days.

Our Slime Day events are very unique to us. I think what works is that we have a well-oiled machine for the logistics of the event (i.e. slime recipes, materials, kits) that it allows team members to jump in with their own ideas and create new stories/themes. It's a super interactive event.

I think we are really good at being our own material and unique programming to sites. We don’t just use what they already have and we don’t just drop off supplies. We spend time with kiddos and really get to know them.

One of many takeaways from Slime Days was - no matter how big the event became, we always remembered the true purpose behind it. Our goal was not just to put on a grand presentation, but to create a memorable experience for everyone involved, including the children, hospital staff, and our own HOP team. We recognized that everyone had a role to play in making this day special.

Each one of us indeed has a unique approach to our job, which adds to the nuances of our work. This includes the way we initiate, conduct, and conclude conversations, as well as our interactions with family members, regardless of any language barriers. I deeply appreciate the respect we have for each other's individuality, and our ability to connect with kindness and celebration.

I find it to be a great privilege to be able to work closely with patients and workshop with them. This allows us to gain valuable insights into their perspectives and connect with them, regardless of whether we spend fifteen or ninety minutes with them. Even when our well-planned program does not resonate with the kids as we anticipated, we have another opportunity to connect with them through simple material-gathering moments, much like how a scientist collects soft data.

We do this with sincerity, not a spreadsheet.
