- Conventional Meaning
A group of archaeologists who investigated the site from 1962 to 1965 discovered several stunning artifacts in Chamber A, Manunggul Cave in Lipuun Point, Palawan. They discovered human remains covered in red paint and adorned with bracelets made of jade, shells, and stone beads, in addition to burial jars.

. Dans, one of the earliest recorded painters in Philippine (colonial) art history, has two works on display at the Pate Parish Church in Laguna. The three-level painting Langit, Lupa at Impierno depicts the Holy Trinity, Mary the mother of Christ, saints, the Seven Blessed Sacraments, and a macabre depiction of hell. The second painting, Purgatorio, depicts the eight punishments that the soul must endure before reaching heaven.

In 1807, a number of Ilocano townsfolk marched towards the provincial capital of Vigan to protest against a 20-plus-year-old Spanish-imposed colonial ban on the private manufacture of basi wine. The group, led by Pedro Mateo and Saralogo Ambaristo, were met by a Spanish-led army to counter the challenge. Thus ensued a battle that lasted a day and ended in victory for the colonial forces.

Ventura is a contemporary artist from Manila who graduated from the University of Santo Tomas with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Painting. After graduating, he taught at the same school but discovered his true calling as a visual artist after his first solo exhibition at the Drawing Room in Makati in 2000. Ventura's work is known for having multiple layers and focusing on the human form. His paintings combine comic sketches, reality, and graffiti in a dramatic way. His influences include Asian mythology, Catholicism, science fiction, and comic book characters.

He is a self-taught visual artist who displayed creativity as a child. Pasilan has moulded clay figures for most of his life and continues to use this in his work. Currently based in Manila, he has become known for his paintings that hold multiple layers, using different mediums to expose new forms. Pasilan’s work has been represented by the Drawing Room of Manila, Artinformal Gallery, and West Gallery. A notable collaboration with Raffy Napay was featured in Art Fair Philippines in 2017.
