We Were Liars by E. Lockhart is a fascinating and intriguing novel. I would recommend this book to my friend Chloe. Chloe enjoys reading books that are fiction and have an ending with a twist. We Were Liars is filled with memory moments. This reminds me of my friend Chloe because Chloe and I have many memories together. One example of a memory moment that Cadence has is, "I remember this like I am living it as I sit on the steps of Windermere, still staring at the spot where Gat disappeared into the night."(p.208) My friend Chloe would be a great recommendation for this book.

In the book We Were Liars, I notice a Contrast and contradiction when Cadence lit her house on fire, while her three friends were inside. "I threw the flaming roll into the kindling and watched it light. It caught, and grew, and spread."(p.205) When Cadence realized that she lit the house on fire with her friends in it she gets very worried because she knew it wasn't right. Here is a picture I have found that does a good job of showing what I believe Cadence envisioned when she saw the match hit the floor.

The novel We Were Liars by E. Lockhart explains the dangers of messing with fire and mistakes that can happen. An article that show you should always be careful with fire in your home is one from Times.com, ime.com/4456426/valtimore-mom-of-year-homeless-fire-son/?iid=sr/link1. In this article it talks about a boy in his late teens whose home was destroyed by fire after he made a cooking mistake. It also mentions the importance of being careful when dealing with fire.
