Desmos is an online math tool that provides activities and games that help students to better understand content. Some activities require students to play against a partner while others are individual. Each has multiple steps that students walk through on their own. They can go at their own pace and receive immediate feedback about whether their response is correct. They have unlimited chances to try to get the answer correct and can move on to other steps without getting the one before correct. The teacher can see the responses of each student and which step they are on. All the data is saved on the teacher's account.

TTM Is a math program that allows students to learn and practice the math curriculum at different grade levels. Students are given an equation to solve. If they get it correct, they move on to the next question. If they miss it, there is a short video explaining how to solve the equation. Students move at their own pace to complete the lessons.

Nearpod is a tool that allows teachers to interact with students in real time. It's like an interactive Powerpoint, but better. Students use their individual devices yet the teacher controls the presentation; students aren't tempted to "surf" the web while pretending to follow. The lessons can be set up so that students can move through them from home if needed. Quizzes and drawings and other types of evaluations can be included in presentations and Nearpod provides reports for the teacher to view later.

Socrative is a great formative or even summative assessment tool. Students can complete exit tickets that are very basic (rank yourself on how well you understood today's information) to having students write their own responses. I love that this is an easy way to do an exit ticket if you have one-to-one computers in your classroom, rather than dealing with all the paper. Students can also take quizzes on Socrative and the results can be transferred to Mastery Connect. Students can take quizzes in basic format, or they can do a "Space Race", which brings a little friendly competition into the atmosphere.

Students are assessed at the beginning and placed on a level appropriate for individual growth. Students work consistently 20 minutes a day to progress to new levels. Assessment is done through their daily work and reports to me areas in which particular students need additional assistance. I love the individual pace and the way it points me to the students that need particular assistance.

Students can choose what they want to share with their families; maybe a favorite activity from the day, something new they learned, or something they excelled at. It is a fun, interactive program that really held student attention. It is more for making a finished product than teaching or checking for understanding though.
