It incorporates a crossover between real life and cartoon, comic book style life.

The video became very popular because of this interesting take on a music video and many viewers were, and still are, impressed by the editing of the piece. It moves so seamlessly along to the music and literally illustrates the lyrics.

I really like this sequence because of how different it is to every other music video out there - it is unbelievably creative and technologically advanced especially considering the time it was created. It is so interesting to see a music video being made in this way instead of a regular sequence of lip synced clips.

The whole band is based off of 4 characters - 2D, Russell, Murdoc and Noodle. They are the band members which means that the real life people who narrate the voices try to detach themselves form the visual aspect of the music as they have made this word where the band are the actual people singing etc. This means that all of their official videos are of the 4 characters who are animated, originally puppets, and perform within the music video.

Most of them have an intergalactic feel to them as they are normally based in space or some sort of extra-terrestrial world. This immerses the audience and fixates us on the visuals which are uncommon within the music industry.

I love this music video because we fully get to see the characteristics of the band members and the surreal, unique nature of Gorillaz genre can be understood further.

I also like that it has narrative at the beginning which sets the scene and provides character context to the video.
