This is because in some students minds it is easier to submit work that has already been done and get an easy A, than put the actual effort in. Also sometimes students run out of time to get work done and take the chance to cut corners.

To eliminate this type of behavior would be to not put so much pressure on students to get high grades. In certain situations receiving a high grade is all the student can think about because they do not want their GPA's to drop. With the added pressure to pass your classes and succeed, it adds another layer to be untruthful to succeed. Classes should not be so centered around grades and should focus on actually learning and taking in the material. How would the professor evaluate the students knowledge? The teacher should focus more on discussion boards, assignments, and potentially papers. This is because the student can show a better understanding of the material, especially if they are not good test takers.
