         <description><![CDATA[<p>The key commodities that drove trade included things like salt and spices, which were difficult to obtain and were only available in certain locations. Not only did they trade spices however, but the routes also impacted the economy and cultures of the regions involved in the trades. The interactions between the two regions in the trade meant the spread of culture, religion, etc.  </p>]]></description>

The empires who had control over the trade routes such as the Silk Road gained power in the economy by taxing goods. Trade also brought different empires new cultures and technology from different regions, which they could incorporate into their own technologies. Overall, the trade between regions brought advancements to their culture and technology.&nbsp;</p>]]></description>

Different scientific knowledge, philosophies, and technology was passed on between the regions as well. They also influenced each other in terms of art, education, and government.&nbsp;</p>]]></description>

Even ordinary people benefited from these trades, as the exchange of ideas and culture improved their technology and knowledge. The Silk Road brought job opportunities to many.&nbsp;</p>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<p>There were many people who were harmed by the Silk Road’s trades as&nbsp;it exchanged diseases as well. &nbsp;An example of this is how the Black Plague was brought from Europe to Asia through the Silk Road. Becuase people were always interacting due to the trades, it made it easier for the diseases to spread. This harmed the populations that had no immunity to this disease yet. Even though it brought many benefits to each of the regions, it unintentionally spread foreign diseases as well.&nbsp;</p>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<p>One of the empires that influenced the Silk Road was the Han Dynasty, and they contributed to the route by expanding it. They were also the ones that brought the silk exports to the West. The Mongol Empire also helped with the Silk Road, as they provided security. Not only were they protecting the Silk Road, but the Mongol Empire and the Persian Empire helped to build it.&nbsp;</p><p>&nbsp;</p>]]></description>
