         <description><![CDATA[<div>Two major leaders were Julius Caesar and Augustus/Octavian. Julius Caesar was a Roman general who became dictator of the Roman empire. He contributed to Romans government and military. Augustus was Rome's first emperor and a major part of the reason there was Pax Romana. Through his leadership he influenced the peace that was brought to Rome for 200 years.</div>]]></description>

We also use some of the same architecture and art as them. We have statues of leaders, arches, mosaics, and roads. </div>]]></description>

Assemblies were made up of plebeians and the senate was made up of wealthy patricians. Consul's were the highest elected officials in the Roman government.          <description><![CDATA[<div>-Empire: One of the largest empires in the world<br>-Aqueducts: Romans made aqueducts that transported water from different places. They were a major break through for this time period.<br>-Architecture: Rome built beautiful buildings like the Colosseum and Pantheon&nbsp;<br>-Roads: Roman's made roads and sidewalks so traders could transport their carts. We use roads just like they did.<br>-Government: Rome's government influenced our government. Their government was strong and lasted a long time.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Rome's laws were inscribed on 12 bronze tablets called the Twelve Tables. They used this system so that citizens would be treated equally. They thought that if the laws were written down everyone would have to be treated equally. This system is similar to the constitution. </div>]]></description>

They were poor and often times farmers, bakers, and craftsmen. The second group is the Patricians. They were wealthy and most commonly were in the government in some way.
