New thoughts on Thorin that I have are he is greedy and selfish. Although brave and heroic he is, he will destroy anyone who touches his share of the profits. All in all, Thorin is very mean and greedy, no matter who to.

I never much liked Thorin, due to my love of Bilbo, but on another level, Thorin isn’t all that relatable. Bilbo is down to earth and values little things, whereas Thorin is a king who fell from grace. How many people can actually relate to that? Not very many. You may like him for his interactions, but he is so prideful and demeaning towards Bilbo, I just never much liked him. On top of it all, Fili and Kili are very likable characters, which ironically makes me like him more, because they are related.
