Americans in generally do not equally respect and value all types of work in our society, and they often ascribe higher values to jobs that are higher paying or requiring higher education. Some jobs such as garbage collector or janitor are often looked down upon as undesirable jobs, and many people do not respect the workers that perform these tasks. We often think that unskilled jobs deserve less respect, but they still contribute meaningfully to society through their hard effort. Work is an important aspect of human dignity because it demonstrates our contribution to others through society.

Americans do not value all types of work in society. We definitely discriminate and hold biases against certain professions, as well as associate certain occupations with certain races. Many service-based professions are scorned and seen as jobs held by uneducated or indolent people, and these workers are often disrespected by others.

Some people view those who don’t make as not as hard workers or not respectable which is not always true
