If you are hiking on a mountain and you hurt your ankle while halfway up the mountain. You are alone and realize that you cannot walk by yourself. In the alarm stage you feel the need to get out of there as soon as possible because the night will freeze. The resistance stage causes your body not to sweat any more to conserve water and your body shivers to warm your body up when night falls. In exhaustion stage your body stops to shiver and slows all movement and processes to conserve the last little energy to pup your lungs and heart.
