The Berlin Wall was created to separate the East and West of Germany because the East was communist and people were trying to escape to the west. The wall was intended to keep the East Germans in. The wall affected the Cold War by getting the USA involved by bringing in supplies to the west because they didn't have enough supplies. When the US got involved, people started protesting against the Wall and it finally fell weakening the USSR's power.
